Hi lovelies!
The weather's getting warmer so you know what that means... it's almost skirt season! I love spring, everything about it; from the warm weather to being able to finally ditch my winter jacket. I thought a lot about what new post I should put up, and after lots of thinking I thought that sharing my spring trends with you readers would be a great idea! With spring just around the corner, here are my spring "ins" and "outs" for the season, so keep on reading!
Fashion
In- The
eyelet pattern is incredibly in for spring. When I think spring fashion, I imagine soft, feminine pieces; especially dresses. In the photo below, you can see that this dress is a great example for this trend. By incorporating the classic spring white dress along with the pattern, this dress is a must-have.
In- Bold, solid
coloured shorts are a really exciting new trend for me. I have always stayed on the safe side of the colour spectrum; this includes dark and light wash jean shorts, not exciting I know. This spring (and summer) is a great excuse to try out the colour blocking trend. Colourful shorts create a sense of uniqueness, boldness and look amazing as well.
Out- It is time to leave the
cheetah print, it was only a fad and not fit for spring. Cheetah print is too androgynous for spring (in my opinion). This spring is all about the girly fashion; as seen on the Louis Vuitton Spring 2012 Runway, femininity is the way to dress!
Out- Along with my persuasion to wear more feminine clothing, the
masculine trend has to leave. This means combat boots, studs, dark colours, and black leather jackets. Fashion continuously recycles itself between feminine and masculine trends; last year, masculinity was more looked upon but this year femininity has taken the reigns.

Beauty
In-
Pastel nail polish is one of my favourites all year round, but with spring coming up I'm super excited to wear it. My main three pastel nail polish colours are mint green, pink and a lilac. The Louis Vuitton Spring 2012 Runway stresses pastel, almost every single outfit has a pastel colour so incorporating the colour into nail polish only makes sense!
In- Spring is all about going "au naturel". I always like to wear bare,
natural makeup year round, but this season stresses on the relaxed, bare, light makeup look. I would do this by lightly dusting powder on the face or even use tinted moisturizer, instead of liquid foundation. Add a touch of mascara, no eyeshadow, a light flush of blush to the cheeks and a neutral lip product and voila you're done!
Out- If spring is about going all natural on makeup, the "out" would be wearing a
smokey eye. Spring is definitely not the season to test out the smokey eye, just keep this look for the night time or (even better) not at all.

P.S. Since it's March break now (for me) or maybe some might call it "spring break", what are you guys doing for the break?
