Equestrian Elegance

Hi lovelies!

I love the look of equestrian clothing because it looks so sophisticated, conservative and put together, which is how I personally classify my style. Although I have never ridden a horse, I'm inspired by the fashion. A classic horse back riding outfit consists of a blazer, a button-up shirt, tight riding pants and riding boots. At an attempt to recreate the look, I took a more wearable and casual take on the outfit.

     Here are the photos:

P.S. I'm sorry that the photos aren't clear, I had to take these photos by myself with the 10 second timer option so I couldn't focus it. :(

Simplicity in Stripes

 Hi lovelies!

Has this week been as hectic to you as it has to me? I had a bunch of tests, assignments and exams to do but good thing that's over! This post is based on what I think every girl should have in her closet, a striped shirt! Striped shirts are kind of risky since they do bring the illusion of width to the body. One of my friends actually asked me "how do you wear a striped shirt?" and I guess that kind of inspired this post.
The way I wore my striped shirt in this post is through layering and one tiny pop of colour. This outfit involves monochromatic colours with one bold colour, turquoise. Without any further ado, scroll down to see the pictures.

Partying in Pyjamas

Hi lovelies!

In my fashion class at school, one of our projects was to make a pair of pyjamas. So when I was buying the materials needed, I wanted my fabric theme to be "girly and floral" and that's exactly what I got. Some people thing floral is granny-like but I really like the trend!
I never knew making a simple pair of PJ pants took so much work. I had about five weeks (I think) to work on this project, and I finished early. When I was done sewing and putting together my PJs, I wanted to show my readers! So with the help of my sister, we had a "pyjama photo shoot". I know we're not the most professional people in the world but it was fun!

Now for the random stuff. Since I want to get more conversation going on in the comments, what are your favourite shows at the moment? I recently found this amazing show called "Jane by Design" and can totally envision myself in Jane's shoes, or should I say heels, haha. We're similar in many ways, and I would kill to have her internship.

     Here's the photo:

I want to hear from you readers! What are your favourite shows? Have you ever sewn something for yourself to wear before? And what posts would you like to see from me in the future? Thanks for reading!

Hugs and kisses,
Suzy

Sweet Sixteen

Hi lovelies!

Today (well, yesterday) was my sweet sixteen; although I didn't have a glamorous or expensive birthday party, I still enjoyed my birthday. It was a really simple and sweet day that was spent with my family and relatives.
My birthday was split up into two parts, my actual birthday (January 27) and today (January 28).  On my real birthday (in order of events), I woke up to my sister bringing me a gift bag of presents from my family, then having to practice piano for an hour because I had to go to piano class later on that day. After my piano class, my mom, sister and I went to the mall to retrieve my free Starbucks drink courtesy of my birthday (for Starbucks rewards members). A couple hours later, my sister and I went to our church's fellowship, and lastly, even though it was 10 p.m we went out to a restaurant where many of my relatives were there as well.

     Here are the photos:

For part two of my birthday, I went to downtown to shop around with my brother and sister. We walked around for a while until we found a nice place to grab a drink. This place called "Darkhorse Espresso Bar" was our destination. My brother ordered a 'London Fog' while my sister ordered a lemonade, which later she didn't want then gave to me, haha. After we came out of 'Darkhorse' we made our way to Eaton Center where we grabbed a bite and a little dessert. For the big meal, I ordered a classic cheeseburger combo at "Big Smoke Burger" and for the treat, I got a strawberry gelato at "Froshberg Gelato".

     Here are the pictures:

As for what I got for my birthday and what I wore, there's a picture for all that! I'm really thankful for all the gifts I got, especially the new addition to my NAKED palette family... NAKED 2! And the new camera I got (see the difference in the quality?). Enough chit chat, just look at the photos, haha.

My Favourite Beauty Products

Hi lovelies!

Today I've got a good (but long) post in store for you readers. As requested by one of my friends, I have decided to show you my top eight makeup must haves and review them. There are a couple holy grail products here, so if you're looking into buying one (or more!) of these products but not sure whether they are worth the investment, hype or quality, you've come to the right place!

     Here's the photo:

1. The Urban Decay NAKED Palette is one of the most popular neutral eyeshadow palettes. I personally adore this palette because the eyeshadows are great quality with amazing pigmentation; there's a variety of colours for every skin tone that range from an everyday natural look to a nighttime smoky look.
     Cost: $58 (CAD) at Sephora
2. The NARS Laguna Bronzer is one of my all time favourites and one of my holy grail products. It's the perfect shade for my fair skin colour, not to mention the slight shimmer too! This bronzer gives off a natural, sun kissed glow while adding dimension to the face.
     Cost: $38 (CAD) at Sephora
3. The NARS Deep Throat Blush despite the name, is the "hype girl" to NARS' Orgasm Blush which is much more popular than 'Deep Throat'. However, since I do own both, I much prefer NARS' Deep Throat Blush because it's pretty much the same colour but has no gold undertone and less shimmer.
     Cost: $29 (CAD) at Sephora
4. MAC products really have a spot in my heart, haha! Not only do they cost less, but are also very much worth the value. My MAC Mineralized Skinfinish Natural in Medium is my other holy grail product. This is a product I encourage all my readers to buy, it gives the perfect coverage and does not look cakey at all.
Cost: around $27 (CAD) at MAC
5. Another product I love is the MAC Blankety Lipstick. This colour compliments my skin tone perfectly and adds a slight bit of colour as well. I really love MAC lipsticks because of the colour options, the formulation and the scent. I suggest MAC lipsticks in general, to everyone!
      Cost: $19 (CAD) at MAC
6. A highlighter will brighten up the high points on the face and give off a little shine, the Benefit High Beam is the best one to do so. The fun part, is that the packaging resembles a nail polish but is actually a liquid highlighter.
     Cost: $30 (CAD) at Sephora
7. Mascara is not a product I use on an everyday basis however, if I did wake up early enough everyday to use it, I would use the Makeup Forever Smoky Lash Mascara. If you know me well, you'd probably think that Maybelline One by One is my favourite. I mean I like it very much but it doesn't do much for my eyelashes. 'Smoky Lash' really volumizes and lengthens my lashes while 'One by One' just holds the curl.
     Cost: $24 (CAD) at Sephora
8. YAY, last product! This is yet again, another product I don't use everyday, but is still one of the best liquid eyeliners I have ever used. The Stila Liquid Eyeliner is very easy to use and the colour payoff is amazingly dark and does not smudge or budge at all.
     Cost: $26 (CAD) at Sephora

If you read everything from the beginning to the end, I adore you very much and I'm sending kisses your way; and if you didn't... none for you! I'm just joking, I thank EVERY one of my readers that took the time to stop by and even glance at this post.

Hugs and kisses,
Suzy

About Me!

Hi lovelies!

Being that this is the first post, I thought that it would be best to introduce myself and talk about what's to come on this blog!
So first off, I'm a 15 years old (soon to be 16 on January 27!) and after being inspired by many prestigious, well-known blogs, I one day decided that I wanted to "be like those people" too. If you're wondering about the reason behind naming my blog title, it's because I randomly came up with the name based off my Tumblr account (www.highprofilehighexpectations.tumblr.com). Not much of a meaning behind it, haha!
Now for this blog, I'm planning on doing everything under the sun! From outfit of the days, experiences, reviews on products, and anything else in-between. I'm super excited to see how this blog will progress and if you readers have any suggestions for topics, or ways to improve, please let me know!
